Garden Design By Deborah Blake
My aim is to provide you with the best possible garden design for you and your family while considering the impact on the environment and wildlife. I focus on creating beautiful planting designs that enhance your outdoor experience.
Smaller design projects include borders, cutting gardens, vegetable gardens and orchards
The Design Process
For me every project commences with an initial discussion to ensure I understand the clients' objectives and preferences. The approach is collaborative and bespoke; I dedicate time to carefully assess your vision and intended use of the space. The design process is organised into defined stages, providing the client with a clear understanding of how the design process will run from its inception to completion. Recognising the individuality of each garden, I tailor the methodology to accommodate the project's scope, budget, and desired level of client involvement.
Design Stages
Consultation
Fact finding, to achieve an understanding of what you want from your garden, your likes and dislikes, and to gain insight to your garden’s unique qualities soil type, PH and aspect. This consultation enables me to create a design brief before any design work happens.
I will explain the design process and my fees.
Once the design brief and fees have been agreed, the full design process can begin and I will return to site to take full measurements and plot existing features and plants which will remain in the design.
Concept
Once appointed I can bring to life your garden concept with initial sketches and mood boards to give a feel for how your garden will look. I present plant ideas, features and hard landscaping materials that could be used.
Final Detailed Design
With the concept agreed we develop the final masterplan with full specifications for accurate costings.
